So as some of you might know, jolly old London Fashion Week is in the midst of celebrating its 25th anniversary. To top things off it was announced that Burberry Prorsum will close out the festivities, showing their SP/SU 2010 Prorsum line. The quintessential Brit label has previously shown in Milan– and is know as a golden ticket during fashion week.
B.P. joins a growing number of lables returning back to London to show:
Vivienne Westwood’s Red label: A/W 2008
Luella: S/S 2008
Matthew Williamson (with Ms. Campbell): S/S 2008
While its great that the MAJORS are returning home, London’s rep has spanned far and wide for being ground zero for rising talent. Although the British Fashion Council has no doubt grappled with funding, LFW has survived and continues to do well for itself w/o the commercial degradation of Milan, Paris and of NYC…
